Welcome to Mexico, a Magical Place
I recently had lunch with Rick (Cabo Ricardo) and Kathy Jacobs, such a wonderful couple, so in love with each other, and merrier than ever! During lunch we talked about their recent travels to the mainland, actually to one of the most beautiful cities in Mexico, Guadalajara.
I remember, I told them how great it was to hear that they took the time and energy to go and discover other places in this country.
Let me tell you, its not just because I am Mexican, or because I have been privileged enough to travel to different countries and continents in the world, but because I have heard all kind of stories about how great the country of Mexico is.
It’s not just about Cabo and the many activities there are to do here, but it is the culture and colors all throughout this nation that will make you feel you are living a dream full of delicious food and marvelous people. For example, the Mexican cuisine has been considered by UNESCO an “intangible cultural heritage of humanity”, meaning that it is one of the three “major” cuisines of the world alongside French and Chinese food.
Another thing you need to discover is the rich and different architectural styles that frame our cities all the way from the north down to the south, a great result of our pre-hispanic and colonial heritage.
If you are a nature lover, there are many places that are a “must” for eco-touristic activities. Take for example, what do you think about doing a “rapid” in San Luis Potosí, where tropical jungles and cliffs surrounding rivers that will make this experience absolutely unforgettable. Maybe you want to discover the place where millions of Monarch butterflies fly 2800 miles all the way from Canada going to the state of Michoacán to a forest where they stay for the winter. Why do four to five generations of butterflies travel thousands of miles to perpetuate themselves? Maybe just a miracle of nature, who knows, but this is one of the experiences that will make you feel you are part of something big and incredible. You feel that something is right with the world.
If you like culture, museums, night life and/or thousands of options for the finest dining, or just fantastic tacos stands, then think no longer and visit Mexico City, known as the city with more museums than any other city in the world. If you like tequila and mariachi, Guadalajara offers you a train tour that takes you to Tequila, Jalisco… an unforgettable experience that shows you the process of making this drink, and with a Mexican show of the Charrería.
Living in Cabo would be a perfect “terminal” to travel to the mainland in a very short time, and living in Ventanas is even better considering that you will feel right at home. So weather you are a tourist, or you decide to live part of the year in Cabo, you have many places to discover in this magic country. Take a week or two and prepare yourself for an adventure that will be worth telling about to everyone back home.
I am Mexican and love my country and even more, I love promoting it as the perfect destination for your vacation.
